Away with the cross connect

We sell data cabling in Geelong

In 2016 we were engaged in By Harp Electrical Services to assist with the relocation of approximately 200 Cat 6 cables to a new cabinet in AGL's Eastwoood operations centre.

AGL required a new data cabinet to patch new services to and to rearrange their highly complex Highband system of discnnection modules which had been installed some 12 years prior.

Our specific roles was to extend 200 cables from their Highband wall and continue these cables to a series of Patch panel in an already existing data cabinet. This involved us supplying 200 disconnect points and jumpering new cable up to 20m long, running under the data centre floow over to racks. We then terminated these cables onto patch panels.

The overall result left the client with a complete patchable solution and did away with the old cross connect system you see in Europe and the US.
